Designed for anyone who is beginning study of a musical instrument whether as an amateur or as a student pursuing a career in music. This course will enhance your understanding of the language of music with a more detailed study and application of the elements of music.
The course will consist of highly engaging videos as well as live lectures.

In this level you will learn:

Pitch scales, intervals, key signatures, and clefs. Practical application of these elements will include pitch notation and two-voice counterpoint

Rhythm meter and tempo. Practical application will include notation, metronome markings, common tempo indications and simple meters

Harmony major and minor triads. Practical application will include notation, harmonic progressions, cadences, and inversions

Timbre sound qualities of voice types. Practical application will include writing for a standard mixed chorus with focus on vocal ranges

Form small musical structures. Practical application includes analysis of harmonic progressions as it affects small and large musical structures
